JOG DIAL
The extra-large, quick-response
Jog Dial makes searching the music frame-by-frame and selecting precise
cue points easy-easier and more precise, in fact, than setting the tone
arm on vinyl.
FLAT-TOP DESIGN
DJ's used to working with
turntables will have no problem switching to the top-mounted controls of
the CDJ-500H.
OUICK START
Unlike nearly all other
players, there is no lag time when you hit the Play button. The CDJ500II
starts the music instantly so you can match the rhythm with pinpoint accuracy.
PLAYING ADDRESS
A light bar graphically
shows the song's elapsed playing time, just like a tone arm moving across
a record.
TEMPO CONTROL
A DJ-standard long-stroke
slide controls pitch and speed within a range of +/- 10 percent.
The digital display gives a readout in 0.1 percent increments. The
response time of the Tempo Control also has been improved dramatically.
Digital CD Features
MASTER TEMPO
An industry first.
The new Master Tempo control locks in the music's pitch even when
the tempo is changed.
You can speed up or slow the beat with no change in vocal and instrument
tone. It brings a new way of mixing to the DJ world.
LOOP Functions
SEAMLESS LOOP
Any phrase of the CD can
be sampled and seamlessly looped as many times as desired. When the
loop is released, the song continues without pause. The loop start
'is memorized so you can return anytime.
REAL-TIME LOOP
Setting the start point
of a desired phrase of the CD can now be done in real time during live
performance. The end point is also set in real time; when the loop
is released, the music continues without pause.
LONG LOOP
Up to 10 minutes of music
can be sampled and seamlessly looped as many times as needed.
SHORT LOOP
Looping half beats and phrases
as short as one frame is possible.
RELOOP
Even after releasing a loop,
a push of the RELOOP button will return you to the loop start point.
SHORT CUT
A section of music can be
skipped between the current play position and the start point of a previously
fixed loop.
CUE Functions
AUTO CUE/MANUAL CUE
Auto Cue locates the song's
start point even if it differs from the track's 0 frame. The cue
point can be set anywhere
on the CD using Manual Cue.
EASY CUE POINT CORRECTION
Correction of the cue point
is fast and accurate. A gentle push of the Manual Search button or
turn of the Jog Dial allows you to make a frame-by-frame search of the
CD for the exact cue point you want.
REAL-TIME CUE POINT INPUT
The cue point can be set
in real time by pressing the Loop In button during playback. When
you hit Cue after pressing Loop In, it sets the cue point.
Pioneer Can Offer More
RELAY PLAY
Connecting two CDJ-50011s
with a standard 3.5mm mini-plug cable allows one unit to be put on Standby
while the other plays. Relay Play automatically starts the second
unit at the end of the song for uninterrupted play.
FADER START PLAY/BACK CUE PLAY Take advantage of Fader Start Play by using the CDJ-50011 with the DJM-500 mixer. Start the music using the Fader or Cross Fader, or use them to return to the cue point.
BUILT FOR THE PROFESSIONAL
Safety guards around the
Power and Eject buttons prevent accidental cutoff of the music. The
CDJ-500H handles vibration and explosive club sound without skipping or
distortion. Opening the CD door automatically triggers the closing
of a protective slide over the pickup.

AUTO BPM
COUNTER-ONLY FROM PIONEER
Let the digital readout
confirm what you already know by ear. The Beat-Per-Minute Counter
measures the BPM of virtually all kinds of dance music, enabling you to
check the tempo at a glance. Linking widely differing types of music
is easier than ever with the Auto BPM Counter.
UPRODUCING NEW
SOUNDS AND EFFECTS
IS A SNAP WITH THE AUTO
BPM
DELAY
A single repeat of 1/2,
3/4 and 1/1 beat music can be overlaid over a track. For example,
with 1/2 Beat Delay, four beats will be increased to eight, while using
the 3/4 Beat Delay produces a "leap sound" effect.
ECHO
Repeatedly overlaying beats
of 1/2, 3/4 and 1/1 is simple. Cutting in 1/1 beat Echo can create
an intriguing fade to the beat; applying it to the mike causes microphone
output to be reproduced repeatedly to the same beat.
AUTO PAN
The left-right balance can
be changed automatically to the rhythm as rapidly as you like.
Auto Pan can do rhythmic
switches too quick for human operators.
FLANGER
Switching to the Flanger
effect produces synthesizer tones quickly and easily. The Flanger
works particularly well in conjunction with a Seamless Loop.
Other Effect Features
PITCH SHIFTER
The Pitch Shifter corrects
for changes in pitch within a range of +/- 1 octave when using analog turntables
or other vendors' CD players. Used with the mike, the Pitch Shifter
can alter voices.
REVERB
A variety of reverberation
effects are available. SEND/RETURN
Your samplers and peripherals
are easily connected to the DJM-500.
EFFECT ON/OFF
With one touch of the Effect
On/Off button, effects are linked to the rhythm.
EQ FOR EACH CHANNEL
The DJM-500 features 3-band
independent EC for each channel, allowing for simple correction, emphasis
or even elimination of different sound characteristics.
PEAK LEVEL METER FOR EACH CHANNEL Source input levels are given instantly for each channel.
BEAT INDICATOR
The indicator lamps tell
you when the beat you want is linked to the Auto BPM.
A Great Match For
The (DJ-500 Series
FADER START PLAY
Connecting the DJM-500 to
the CDJ-500 Series allows you to take advantage of Fader Start Play; by
increasing the fader on the mixer, the player will automatically override
the Pause control and start the music immediately. Fader Start Play
also works during Cross Fading, an industry first that brings out the best
of sampler-style music.
FADER BACK CUE PLAY
When the DJM-500 is used
with the CDJ-50011, the Fader or Cross Fader controls can also return you
automatically to a designated cue point if desired. By fading Cross
Fader back and forth or Fader up and down quickly, you can give the '.essence"
of scratching a certain point on a vinyle record.
SIZE
The DJM-500 mixer has neatly
the same dimensions as the CDJ-500 Series, making it a perfect and stylish
partner for the CD player.
